4+5 July in Freiburg

On Thursday, July 4th, and Friday, July 5th, we invite you to the huji maja e.V. site from 4 PM to 7 PM: Friedrichstraße 58, right by the main train station. The event >brach und wild< is an audiovisual installation. You can listen to interviews (either on MP3 players or your phones) and see objects and three moving performers. Please plan at least 45 minutes for your visit.

"Best Solo"

“Layers of Ash”, by Magdalena Weniger and Youngwon Song,  was awared "Best Solo" at the SoloDuo festival of barnes crossing cologne May 2024. Jury statement: “Layers of Ash” uses space and time in surprising ways. It is a quirky choreography that escapes a predictable movement language. Dancer Youngwon Song very convincingly embodies the volcanic eruptions. The choreography succeeds in translating a natural phenomenon into human behavior.

Magdalena got invited to Bremen to collaborate with dancer Youngwon Song. In the frame of TanzDialoge #4 a short solo was choreographed inspired by volcanos.

In the frame of TANZTRIALOG Freiburg- Mannheim- Ulm, Magdalena worked with 4 dancers and choreographed a short piece of 20 minutes.

Trialog

Freiburg-Mannheim-Ulm

Magdalena was selected as one of the three choreographers for the Trialog Project 2023. Three choreographers will each work with four dancers to develop a short piece and perform it at E-WERK Freiburg, Roxy Ulm and Eintanzhaus Mannheim. Premier is April 2023!

Compost Composing

We started the new year 2023 with an art project week in the Markgräfler Realschule in Emmendingen near Freiburg. Theresa Rothe, Jarii van Gohl, Helena Steurer and Magdalena Weniger worked with 9th graders, built objects, designed music, wrote lyrics, made paper, threaded beads ... for a large installation!
