Helena Steurer studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice in Hildesheim. At the interface between dance, theater, performance art and philosophy, she explored themes of body presence, perception and movement. With colleagues she founded two student collectives with whom she dedicated herself to practical dance research during her studies and developed three dance pieces. During a 6-month stay abroad in Japan, she researched presence and body perception in Butoh. Accompanying her studies she completed a training as a Shiatsu therapist. She lives and works in Freiburg as a cultural worker in the field of dance/theater and as a Shiatsu therapist.
