two torsos and tension
Dissonance - musical sound, a situation of incongruity, something that strays apart, creates tension and urges resolution.
For a dissonance/tension, at least two components are needed: two parts that move with, towards or against each other, position themselves in relation to each other and set themselves in relation to each other. These can be most different things: two sounds, two opinions, thoughts, needs, wishes, expectations, two body parts, two objects.
These are moments of ambiguity and tension, which we sometimes prefer to avoid, but which often also have their appeal. Because without any tension we quickly perceive things as boring and uninteresting: a film, a relationship, a discussion - life!
Two performers meet to explore different relationships. They face moments of tension and surrender exhaustedly to their resolution. Without music and narration, they negotiate physically, vocally and spatially what usually moves only inwardly.
