Siren- Voice from beautiful to dangerous
In Sirene – Voice from Beautiful to Dangerous, singer and choreographer Magdalena Weniger explores the voice as an everyday, physically sensual, identity-forming, and at the same time fleeting phenomenon. Taking the motif of the siren as her starting point, she examines the voice as a sphere of influence: seduction, power, information, resonance. In a multi-layered vocal composition, the siren appears not as a character but as a state: the ever-changing voice between sound, body, and meaning. Venturing off the beaten path, Weniger captivates the audience—both radically and organically—with her powerful, versatile voice. The audience follows her—as if spellbound—around an imposing 360-degree stage set and experiences how the voice shapes space, directs perception, and creates resonating bodies.
